An Animated Life

Finding a cool screen name for your internet presence is a gauntlet. You have to be slick, memorable, and hyphy (that rabbit hole goes deep) all at the same time.
As such, when I was on an international folk dance ensemble, there was a time where we had 3 (three, 三 , tres) people named Christian on the team – since I was still looking for that perfect screen name, I took my last name, Halversen, and made it Halvzie (HAL-Vvv-Zee). The name doesn't strike fear into any Smash Bros lobbies, but is effective at making people wonder how to pronounce it.
I'm Into Stuff
I've immersed myself into imaginative worlds via many diverse mediums for as long as I can remember. Dad would read us Lord of the Rings when we were kids, until we were old enough to read it ourselves. Mom was a Ms. Pac Man adept, and bought the family's first Nintendo system – we continue to play Words With Friends daily. She's also capable of consuming a book at lightning speed. Thought provoking movies and television brought the family together frequently.
I'm here on the internet to talk about books, games, movies, animation, and tv.
An Animator
Technical term for what I do is "Motion Graphics Artist", but that's boring, unfamiliar, and doesn't have people asking me which movie studio I work for. I specialize in 2D and 3D animation, visual effects, photoshop, illustrator, and video editing. Been at it for 11 years now.
We have things called "demo reels" in the industry which show off what we do – here's mine:
Boo! Hiss! 6 year old demo reel! Does he even work out?
Yes, don't worry, my quads are sore. New reel coming soon, been too busy working.
Other Stuff
Married to the love of my life, Mackenzie, who's an author. Our cat Hank takes naps with me. Working on getting my squat to 315 3x5 this year.
